The Catalan Association of Bar Turning and Machining Companies (ADECAT) is a non-profit business association that was founded in 1978 with the aim of contributing to the technological and business development of the bar turning and machining industry in Catalonia. Internationally, it is a founding member of the Syndicat International du Décolletage (SID), the organisation that brings together the sector’s leading institutions.
The Association is made up of bar turning and machining companies (full members), as well as companies that supply the sector (technical members). It works to defend its members’ corporate interests and promote the profession within the fields of machining and mechanical manufacturing design, with the aim of enhancing the sector’s competitiveness and professionalisation. To achieve this, it operates in various areas for the benefit of its member companies, including training, exports, internationalisation, the promotion of networking , innovation and knowledge. For this purpose, the Association has an annual Activity Plan designed to strengthen and consolidate its different areas of action.
