The Syndicat International du Décolletage (SID) was founded in 1963 to bring together international organisations representing the machining industry.
ADECAT is a founding member, and the SID currently comprises the following nine countries: Germany, Spain, France, Ireland, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Switzerland, the United States and Canada. The presidency and secretariat rotate among the member countries every two years.
The SID Congress is held every two years to put all these elements into practice. Its main highlight is a series of visits to local companies.
